I'm new here but read on here how to replace the front hubs, and since I was having a noise from the frt left side for some time,I thought for sure that was it.
Nope, replaced the frt left hub and the noise continues, sounds like a bearing to me, on the left side of the transfer cae(?) sort of like tire noise but more pronounced.Starts about 30 mph,get louder between 30 and 45.
The 97 has 122,000 on it and the fluid never changed.
Now if there is a bad bearing changing the fluid now would be just wasting money and changing it I don't think will make the noise disapear.(?)
I have no shop to work in any more so I have to depend on someone doing for me and asking them to listen to the noise has proved almost usless,.."it could be this or that" maybe it's the tires" etc.
any input is appreciated.
