Hello! Total Ford newbie here. Coming from a world of Toyotas; not going back but biding my time until a nice example of a 2.3 4x4 Ranger with twin sticks (for a play toy) to come available semi-locally.
Have been researching specs and came up with a 23hp difference between the 1996 2.3 (112hp) and the 1997 2.3 (135hp). Searched a bit but was wondering if anyone knew what change was made that created this increase. Is there any real difference in performance (obviously, its not going to be at factory spec still)?
Any advice on things to look out for?
Please no "you need a 4.0" or anything else along those lines. I don't need to tow with it and am not interested in maintenance and having to work on a 6cylinder.
Thanks!
Found this but it is too far:
