I'm new to Fords. I know the basics but this problem has me completely stumped. With my wifes Explorer (01 Sport) in drive an overdrive on for the longest time it would not go above 3,000 RPM. However my buddy just bought a very expensive Snap-On OBD2 scanner and we hooked it up. Come to find out the code was the dreaded P01120 TPS circuit A low. So I blindly bought and threw on a new TPS. Well I still have the light but now a whole new problem has surfaced.

Part 2

Well now it will go above 3000 RPM and OverDrive, Drive, and 2 but the RPMs go all the way to 5500 RPM and then shifts hard enough to make the serp belt chirp. The Snap-On code scanner said all the line pressure and the tranny was working like it should. This is where I stumped.

Here is some video of what the RPMs do. They are YouTube vids and go in order I hope you guys can make since of it.

Thank you for your patience guys/gals . Like I saidd it is my wifes Explorer and she is missing it. This problem just popped its head up today. She is already tired of driving my GMC.

What about the MLPS sensor? Maybe its throwing the transmission in and out of the wrpng gear? I know this os a large forum but someone has to have some suggestions.
