Hello everyone. My name's Zane, I'm 17 and I freakin love 4 wheelin. I was raised on asphalt but I want to get a little dirty. I've got 3 vehicles, '77 Trans Am, '00 Zx2, and my new '91 Navajo. I'm not gonna lie, the Navi's a POS. I just recently got it running. But it's the only thing I have that's 4 wheel-drive and I have enough fun in it to keep my interest. I'm hoping with the help of google and this site I can get it running right and learn some stuff as I go along.

Welcome! so what does it need to get running right?

That's what I'm not sure about, I'm still in the diagnostic process. It pings under heavy load and when I put it to the floor. I changed all the plugs and wire but it still sounds like there is a miss and I can hear what sounds like arching but it could just be lifter chatter. Also when I take off the check engine light comes on...then when I shift it turns off lol but I think that's just a short somewhere. Reverse and 5th are hard to shift in to sometimes but my buddies 2nd gen. sport has the same problem so it may just be inherent.

welcome

Yea I love my Z. It was even more fun when she was boosted. I was running 9psi. making around 250whp and 230wtq. But I really didn't want to mess with the tranny and put a LSD in it so I just said screw it. Then diff went so I sold the engine and turbo and just bought a stock engine and tranny. The only thing I've done with this engine is CAI, header, and full exhaust. It's a little better now getting good gas mileage and still having a little fun. Man it sucks though, I worked 2 jobs last summer so I could buy all the parts. Now that it's my senior year I don't have a summer to enjoy :thumbdwn:.

But now I'm focused on getting my truck runnin. I like 4-wheelin much better than racing. With racing it's like a 20 second adrenalin rush and you win or lose. But with wheelin you can just get a bunch of buds and go up on the mountain start a fire and drink a 24 pack.

Now that I'm done with my life story, we can get back on topic. It's ran much better today. I think a lot of it had to do with carbon build up I'm gonna pick up some seafoam and make sure it all got out of there tho. Oh and any tips on getting the last plug on the passenger side??? That things a hand breaker! There's got to be like an inch of space in there!

I know I kinda had a heck of a time gettin that plug outta my sport, don't remember what method I used but I had to play with it to get in there right, I think some people with bpdy lifts (don't know if its easier with stock height) they take out the fender well and get to the spark plug like that. And you're right 4wheelin is a little more fun than street racing.
