The mileage is only a problem if it hasn't been mechanically looked after. Ball joints, bushes, brakes and fluids all degrade with time and use so you need records of their replacement. The tranny and transfer case would be my main concern on a high miler as they also wear out as they have clutch plates in them. Again check the colour and smell of the tranny fluid, if it is bright red and un burnt then it may be good for many miles yet. if it is dark red and smell burnt then, even if the tranny is working fine you may find that after a filter and fluid change it lets go.

The seats will be relatively easy to replace as there are plenty of ex's being broken tho getting an un worn drivers seat may be difficult.

the gauges problem could be connected (the console unit being faulty) or could be specific to each one ( the temp sender or wiring and the fuel sender)

To be frank most ex's will come with problem nowadays as they are getting to that age but i would not buy one that hasn't been mechanically looked after service and wear parts wise as the costs will soon add up. High mileage wouldn't phase me if all of the above was routinely done but i would keep a contingency fund for when the tranny gives up.
:salute:
