I'm in trouble. I recently bought a 2010 Explorer 4X4 V6 auto.
I thought I was draining the oil, but discovered that I had dropped 3 quarts of Trans fluid before I noticed,
The manuel says there's no way the owner can replace it and it needs to gop to the dealer. Is this true? If not, where is the fill and how do I access it? If so, how far can I drive it being 3 quarts low?
Thanks!:(:(

You'll need to use a fluid pump (about $10) to fill it. Fill through the inspection plug. The correct level is as much as it can hold until it drips out.

Don't drive it until its full.

Where do I find the inspection plug? The only plug I see is the one at the bottom of the pan that I took off thinking it was the oil drain.

I'm not positive, but its usually on the passenger side of the case, about 1/3 to 1/2 way up.
