Numerical keyless entry on door

My owners manuel says my door key pad is illuminated. Mine does not light up. Can someone tell me if the 1995 Explorer XLT key pad is supposed to be illuminated and it so, how do I fix this problem

It should light up but it is very common that they no longer illuminate. You'd have to replace the whole keypad to fix the problem. May or may not be worth it to you. I think the part is $40-$60 or so.

Thanks for your reply. Its worth it. I like all the OEM equipment to work like it should. I find if you let one thing go, then it snowballs and pretty soon your driving a peice of junk.
