I have a 2002 Explorer XLT. I do not have the premium sound system in it, just the cd/tape player and normal speakers. I would like to get a nice looking head unit just to compliment the car and the remote would be handy. I was wondering.
-First, Can I add subs and amp to the car without having to change all the speakers.
-Second, will that sound bad because the stock speakers are still there.
-Third, i dont listen to much rap music, i like a lot of lite stuff like dave matthews and rock like linkin park. Is a box really worth it then?
-Lastly, I installed a Marble Dash Kit that covers the whole dash. Are they going to have to get rid of it or mess it up in anyway to gain access to the head unit?
- O and how much price wise for a decent head unit (no dvd screen or n e thing) and decent subs and amp?

If any one can help me answer all these questions I would really apprecite it. Thanks a lot guys.

Yeah, you can. You will prob. want to upgrade them after you get a new deck, amp and subs.

A sub makes quite a difference. You could also go with a single decent sub for sound quality more than lots of bass.

You can get a more basic deck with all the necesary features for 200-300. A decent sub and amp will run another 200-300.

Does it cover the plastic surround that goes around the radio?

I cant figure out how to post the pic, so check my web page in my profile... it shows the dash kit. Thanks a lot.

It looks as though the radio surround can still be removed without damage.
