for the last few weeks, putting off having to have it replaced. (yes, I'm a cheap sob:rolleyes: ) I do most of my own work on my truck, but a clutch is out of my league so I'll be paying for this repair.

I've been putting up w/stiff shifting in reverse and first and a soft pedal feel, so I knew this was coming, but now something odd is happening and I'm not sure if it's clutch related. Under brisk accel. the truck has started to buck until I ease off the go pedal a bit. It doesn't feel like normal slippage (which I was waiting for as the coming of the end).

School has just re-started and each time I go over one of the millions of speed bumps it does the same bucking action as I try to accel. away. I've never had a clutch act like this before, and over the years I've had a clutch or two go bad in various used cars I've owned. Does this sound clutch related, or have I developed some other gremlin? Either way I'll be replacing the clutch soon, but hey, as long as it's apart, if there's another prob. I may as well address it. Motor mount comes to mind, but a quick visual check shows no obvious problems.

Any ideas for my beloved Ex?

Without going for a test drive I'd say that the buck is not related to your clutch. Get that clutch repaired before it takes out your tranny.

My trucks parked till I can get it in the shop. It's strange, because it doesn't seem to be engine related. the motor seems strong and smooth. If you depressed and released the clutch pedal rapidly while accelerating, that's what this feels like. I can't think of anything else that would cause my baby to buck like that. Guess I'll know more when I get the clutch done.
