I know, I know. I am spending too much time in the NWExplorer Club Forum tonight, but I am without my X as it is in the shop. Which means I am BORED.

Any way, after The february run I am seriously seeking someone to build me some rock sliders, and a bit of other tube work.

Honestly, I haven't started looking to hard yet
but for me and all our other silent visitors resources are hard to find.

Anyway back to the point I am starting this thread in hopes that all of you from the NW can help post up resources in the area for all of our explorer needs and dreams. There are several "truck" accessory stores around, but where have you found that personal touch that makes doing buisiness pleasureable?
Who seems to know there explorers, or buisiness in general?
Etc.............. you should get the idea

Hopefully we can create a comprehensive guide to services for all our members and visitors.

Self-serving ain't I :D

A few categories to get it rolling:

Accessories

Parts and service

Engine/Tranny Work/modification

Suspension and Brake Work/modification

Tube work and other fabrication

And of course Body work

Oh yeah, what about exhaust and gearing

Wow, that's kinda tough. I get 90% of my parts via mail order (internet). I do 99% of my own work and welding. Pretty much the only thing that I have received locally is driveshafts for obvious reasons. So I guess I'd list myself.

I'm always around to help any board member or anyone for that matter.

Also in the process of building a SAS for one member, SAS brackets for another, and yet one more SAS for a member in Canada as well.

I have not built any sliders yet so I'd have to have your truck here. If you ever get out this way I'd be happy to build you anything.

Places...

Exhaust:
Airport Welding and muffler Inc.
Snohomish, Wa
Very good quality work, I had them make a new tail pipe for me, and they might be putting dual exhaust on my bf's Ranger.

Randy's Custom Exhaust
My friend always talks highly of them, and has had them do work on his truck.

Drivelines?:
Drivelines Northwest
Is where I'm going to go to get my extended driveshaft.

Gearing:
Randy's Ring and Pinion
Seattle based and internet based, I have heard good things about them.

I have thought about making lift brackets and such for the gen1's, and I have started collecting parts at work for my rear bumper.
My concern with making parts for someone else is what if there is a failure?. I would not want to get sued.

I want to add Eastside Custom Truck(425) 820-8687 to this list. They do just about everything truck wise...
Probably one of the coolest shops I have ever been to. Their work is great(as far as I have seen) and all the guys are really nice. I had them do all my balljoints and tierod ends and I also had them do custom mud flaps for my truck. They didn't treat me like I was stupid just because I'm a woman, and that says something.
I'm going back to them to fix my 4wd and get manual hubs put in...

I would like to add......me!
I do all my own customer work, but for normal things, ie ball joints, I work at Elliott Tire/Goodyear in Kirkland....mention Explorer4x4.com and get 20% off tires and all work!
Eastside custom truck is a great place, i've been dealin with them for years.
I've never dealt with DRNW, all my drivelines are done in kirkland by a small shop called Percision Driveshafts, great bunch of guys there who really know their stuff.

Speedway Auto Collision in Everett... Ask for Micheal Nyugen, he is an expert on the Ford Explorer First Gen engines and exhaust. He was a master tech for ford! So anyways, he knows his stuff, highly recommended.

Aspen Tinting, they charge 250 for a 4-door explorer and can match over the stock tint perfectly.

Toys for Trucks in Lynwood.
These guys are a great resource for a variety of things. If it is made they can order it in and install it for you. They also do custom fabrication and custom programming for chips and flashers.

Mann's Welding in Seattle.
This is an average truck accessory store that happens to have a large shop attached and the ability to fab most anything you would like, from brackets to bumpers.

Wonder if they can fab me a custom rollpan for the tail? Thanks for the info!
