Most of the driving I do is in-town, about 7 miles one way to and from work on a daily basis. Mostly flat, some inclines but no hills to speak of.
When I'm driving, I notice the transmission doing some downshifting on a pretty regular basis, I'm sure for fuel mileage reasons and better than lugging the engine.
My question is: Should I push the O/D button and keep it out of O/D when driving around town? I know it probably won't make a huge difference in gas mileage but that's not a big deal. I'm wondering if it's easier on the transmission or not.
Any opinions?
