Most of the driving I do is in-town, about 7 miles one way to and from work on a daily basis. Mostly flat, some inclines but no hills to speak of.

When I'm driving, I notice the transmission doing some downshifting on a pretty regular basis, I'm sure for fuel mileage reasons and better than lugging the engine.

My question is: Should I push the O/D button and keep it out of O/D when driving around town? I know it probably won't make a huge difference in gas mileage but that's not a big deal. I'm wondering if it's easier on the transmission or not.

Any opinions?

the only time i turn off o/d is when im towing. i know what you mean about the constant changes but its only when im towing that it "feels" like its not good. after the air box mod alot of those unecessary changes seemed to go away. maybe its the extra torque? dont know.
