The O/D light blinks only when it is raining hard. Anyone have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
thank you

Can you get it on a good scanner and post up the DTC?

I have not done this yet. This would probably be the next step.
I am not seeing any problems with the transmission or anything else. Only the light blinking. I had this occur last week as well, after a rain storm. I have no problems when it is not raining.

Logic would suggest a bad electrical connection, and would be the simplest to check. My brother is always trying to teach me to check the simple things first.

A past co-worker of mine has a 2wd Ranger (I can't recall the year) and her OD light sometimes flashes, and the tranny goes in to limp mode. Mostly on longer drives, if I remember correctly. I don't think weather mattered though. Her problem was an electrical connector on the transmission. The clip for it was broke. A past mechanic siliconed it in place, but she still has occasional problems. I tried to pull a clip for her in the junkyard, but I couldn't figure out which one or where it was at.

Maybe inspect your electrical connections on the tranny for broken clips.
