the '98 front bumper on to my 2K XLT. Would somebody post a picture of the brace/bracket that hold the outer sides of the bumper up. It mounts somewhere in front of the wheelwell. Me an' my son-n-law can't figure it out, we have the parts but jus' can't seem to see how they mount. One Of Those "See I told you" situations. LOL :dunno:

Why are you taking the bumper apart? There are four nuts and bolts holding the bumper to the end of the two frame rails and two plugs for the fog lights if you have them.

What holds the sides of the bumper up even/flush with the fender line? the braces that came withi t runs from inside the bumper to up inside the fenderwell somewhere.

You need to post pics so we can see what you have, it dose not sound like you have the correct bumper

There are braces, but they run from the bottom of the bumper to the top of the bumper, inside. They don't connect to the Explorer frame at all. At least not on my '97.

From my understanding, del is correct, there are 4 bolts that attach to the frame rail end "ears". That should be it.

Yup, these guys are right.

All bumpers from 1995-2001 should interchange on the explorer.
They're literally held on just at the frame with 4 big bolts.

Post your pics to imgur and link us to them.

When you loosen the 4 bolts, you can adjust the alignment of the bumper.
