Check Engine Light is on and OBD II code PO135 "upstream heated O2 sensor heater circuit fault (bank 1)". Question bank 1 on the righthand side of engine ( cyl. 1 side). If so, does anyone know how to get the cable connector loose. I can see it, but no way to reach it. Loacted high up behind the transmission dip stick tube. Its a '96 XLT 2WD w/ 4.0 auto.

Yes - bank 1 is always the cylinder bank where #1 lives.

For hard to reach connectors, I generally use a combination of long, skinny screwdriver, long needle nose pliers and mechanics wire. I have resorted to greasing my arm but make sure someone is around to help you extricate yourself.

Don't try this at home boys and girls - we're trained professionals ;)

With mine I literally climbed into the engine compartment to get to it. Make sure the engine is cool though.
