Anyone out there know where i can get a decent OBD II scanner? I know Autozone carries them for $150, but i bet there's some out there for near $100. Any clue?

In your search, be sure not to confuse a Code Reader with a Scanner.

Good luck.....

Al, i actually was reading a post by You when i decided the need for one...it was the one where you monitored your coolant temp/thermostat with your scanner...how much should a SCANNER run? For my purpose, i think the code reader would be fine, but i'd like the ability to do what you do with yours...Which did u get?

O'Reilly Auto Parts has one on sale for $120 right now, or there's one that does all OBD-I and OBD-II for $200. Not a bad deal really.

i checked the scangauge.com unit and it does scan a few different things, including intake temp, coolant temp, etc, but it isn't the most attractive unit out there, not too discreet...i like the autoxray units, but they're pricey....not sure where i'll go from here...thanks though!

The most useful scan function ( to me ) is the scan of the function of the O2 sensors and that unit does not do that.

If you've got a laptop check out www.obd-2.com. I've used their software for a couple years now. There are also other similar software based OBD-II scanners out there.

Granted the SG sort of looks like and early east German product, but for 99 bux to your door it accuratly measures alot of perameters
