OKay my 94 ex. driving it after 10min the check engine light comes on. So I got a OBD1 code reader this is what came up
157
332

157=mass air flow sensor fault, low voltage

332= insufficient EGR flow detected

EGR= Exhaust gas recirculation system is designed to allow flow of inert exhaust gases into combustion chamber to cool combustion and reduce nitrous oxides in exhaust....

Now what is that telling me? What do I need to do to fix these problems?

sorry but I have no idea what a DPFE sensor, I do all my work on are trucks but when it comes to sensors I have no idea, only know the sensor thats on the exhaust right after the manifolds

So where is the DPFE Sensor located? :thumbsup:

found the sensor. So should I get a new one? Looks like these fail quite often

well I took off the DPFE sensor hoses and they had lots of white residue in there. Bad sign? Kinda like battery terminal crud

I just got done going through all sorts of agony that started with a 332 earlier this year. Long story short, first determine whether the part is bad, it could also be wiring, etc. If the DPFE sensor is the problem, buy the Ford replacement part, about $160. Takes 5 minutes to replace. Also buy new silicone tubing (two different sizes) while you're at the dealership. I wasted $80 on an aftermarket DPFE which failed after 6 weeks. I then got a different code, and started part-swapping, and wasted another $60 on a Ford EGR solenoid which was perfectly fine and the new one is not returnable (I didn't listen to the dealer who was telling me not to waste my money). Please learn from my mistakes...

For the MAF code, search this forum for the procedure to clean the MAF sensor. Also, check the wiring harness. It's common for the tabs to break, and then it only gets an intermittent (or no) connection. Mine has been held together with some zip-ties for a few years now since I had a broken tab. If those two things don't kill the MAF code, AutoZone can print out a detailed troubleshooting procedure that goes through the voltages you should see on each wire, etc.

Hope this helps!

Mike
