My battery was disconnected for a little while an today when i went to plug my OBDII scanner in it says no drive train data or DTCS stored

So my question is how many miles do i need to drive for all my sensors to be ready ? Currently i have drove 78

How do i fix this ? or did i not drive enough?

an i know that my scanner works an the port works cause i used it before on the Sport Trac

80 or 90 miles and several starts and engine stops as well..

if it is a scanner alone and no datalogging then your truck might not have had enough instances to trigger the light or a code.

for instance some codes will give a light after it happening once some take two times to turn the light on and there are even some that take three times before you get a light.

there are predetermined and determined codes. in the two and three case scenarios a predetermined code status will show in the scanner but not turn your light on. granted this is if your scanner reads codes in this manner.

as for drivetrain, transmission, anti-lock, etc. not all scanners read those DTCs either.

so depending on many situations you can be 1-XXXXXX miles before seeing a code.
