I degreased my engine, using the Gunk degreaser spray today, which by the way did an excellent job! But after i sprayed everything off, i left the car idling so the engine would dry up. It eventually did, but suddenly the engine started to leak radiator coolant, and i couldn't see where it was coming from, it leaked a bunch and the resoviour was completely empty but the radiator had fluid, and it still leaked.

I quickly turned off the engine, and then added fluid and water to the resovoiur, then after i was done i restarted the engine. At first it leaked, but it was a very little bit, and then it stopped completely.

The whole time though the car read normal on the temp guage, which was good. I was relieved the leaked stopped and took a bit of a risk so, i drove it around the neighborhood, and the temp guage ready normal the whole time, and the car ran fine and everything, i dont understand? Any suggestions?

I will never, ever, ever use that stuff again. I used the same stuff on my engine a few days ago and everything was good for a few hours and then I let it sit for 3 hours and my battery was completely DEAD! I took it out and charged it up and now everything is fine. Its one thing to have a problem, but its another to have a problem that shows up and goes away. We did another one of our cars the same day and the wipers come on whenever they want now. ..... Never again!!

That is definately strange the only thing I can do is give you a quick list of places most common for coolant leaks.

1. Top hose, bottom hose
2. Pinhole in radiator
3. Intake gasket
4. Head gasket
5. Thermostat housing gasket

Those are the most common and I have had all of them on my 93' where was the coolant on the ground front back of engine, passenger or driver side.

The leak was more around the back of the engine, and more towards the passenger side. I'll check all that stuff out today, lemme know what you think it could be. Thanks

Well if you still have the stock engine my guess would be that is either an intake or head gasket.

It could be that you had a problem with a gasket or hose and the junk was the only think keeping it together and when you washed it it wasnt there anymore. Not sure why it would suddenly stop again if that was the problem tho.

Found it

The leak is behind the alternator, it's behind it and down, looks to be a corroded part of metal, hopefully nothing to big, I'll let you guys know more in a while.:(

Lower Intake Manifold Gasket...leaked. Used Costal Stop Leak/Block Seal so far it's held up. Anytips on how to actually fix the problem, and how much it would run to do it myself?
