- 2000 Eddie Bauer Explorer
Hi,
I've had the strangest problem with my 2000 AWD Eddie Bauer. I got home last night and went to back into my driveway, but the car struggled (only moved a couple feet). I put it into drive and it worked a little better, but was revving more than sticking.
I finally got it into my garage, and looked at it today. Transmission fluid is full with no signs of brown. Reset the electrical system as well. Tried pulling codes, but got nothing.
It makes a definitive noise when shifting from P to R to N to D. However, it barely moves through all gears (R,D,1, and 2). When it does inch forward it feels like all of the work is being done by the front driver's side tire. It even veers that way when I really give it gas.
At this point I'm pretty stumped. If someone could point me in any direction that would be greatly appreciated. I'm at the point where I'm considering just taking it in, but I'd like to know if it's possibly something I could self-diagnose first.
Thanks!
