I got this 97 Mountaineer with 155k on it. Of course its the 5.0 AWD.
When on the highway above 55 or so I get this odd vibration when either turning right or when I hit a bump and the suspension stretches out for that quick second or so. I just passed a somewhat halfassed inspection where all the guy cared about was my front suspension and steering. Just to cover his own ass to make sure it wasnt going to fall apart. Actually at first I failed for a bad lower ball joint which I promptly replaced that day and went back. He said everything else was good and tight. But this vibration was the same before and after. I would think its a tire balancing issue if it was a consistent vibration not affected by turning or suspension travel. Unless its a belt issue that rears its head at high speeds and load changes. Any ideas?

It seems as when I hit these bumps or dips in the highway the front drivers side bobs up and down more than the passenger side. Dont know if this is related but im hoping that replacing the shocks will remedy that problem.
I do plan on replacing the tires since the rears have decent tread but the fronts are somewhat bald. Same size tires but different brands and tread amounts. Definitely want to get them all the same.
