First,
Allow me to say, hello foreigners, as I rarely travel outside the 05 room.
One of the things the people in that room think are kewl are cold air kits. I like the idea of a bigger filter element, but I'm not paying those kinds of prices for something I feel is probably of limited benefit.
One day, I was checking out a friends' 05 mustang, and she had one of those tube-shaped filter boxes. This gave me an idea; why not scope out a factory one?
....which, brings me here. Last summer, I was at pull-a-part, when I saw an older ranger with the hood popped. Because of all the "Type R" crap on it, i had thought dude stole my idea and snaked one a those tube style cleaner boxes, too. Four bucks later, it was on the way home!
Anyway, I started researching the part number (F57X-9643-CD) nothing pulled up @ motorcraft, but I found references to it as a ranger cleaner box, and a 45 dollar filter!!!
So, I am asking:
1- is this a stock box for yall?
2- any reason it wouldnt work on an 05 V6?
3- cheapest dry filter for it?
Thanks in advance,
Shawn
