This is wierd, but I just noticed that my rear end is off center by a whole inch. The body is centered, both spring packs are centered on each pirch and for some reason it's off center. I measured both sides and the pass side tire sticks out a full inch farther than the driver side.

Anybody know anything about this? Is it supposed to be this way?

Go check another new one on a dealers lot. Or better yet check several. If yours is different the only thing I can say is ATTICA!!!!!!!!!!!

One side has a longer axle shaft than the other. The carrier is slightly offset within the axle housing.

Since the pinion comes in from dead center, the carrier has to be offset to one side.

Rick, so this is a normal offset? I am not talking about the pumpkin, I am talking about the whole axle assembly. Is it because the driveshaft has to come down dead center and the pinion is off center so they make the axle off center?

Kampy, seems to me I would have to hit it pretty hard to move it. I inspected everything, nothing is bent or broken and everything looks seated correctly.

Show us some pictures if you think something else is wrong.

Hmmm, how the heck am I going to get a picture of this?

I'll try, but there's about 2 feet of snow on the ground and I park outside of the garage so, I'll wait until the melt. Dead Link Removed

are your leafs dropping down level? what im thinking, is if you rocked it hard in Attica, then you might have bent a shackel and the upper mount consistently. take a pumb bob (or whatever that wieght on a string is called) and see if your springs are leaning one way or another....just a thought....

Ya, it's called a plumb-bob.

Dunno what the deal is, been like this for about 4 months and today it is back in line. I was using 4WD all day today in the snow, but I don't know why that would change anything. Maybe it's these WP shackles? Maybe I did something to pop it back....friggin trucks...gotta love 'em.

Then again, I could just be a doofus.
