i just got a Westin Safari Bar with two holes for lights up to 6". Now I need to fill those holes. I have about $100 to spend on lights. I know I want a kit with two 6" lights, guards, a relay and a switch. Can someone tell me where I can find a decent pair within my range? Thanks

ebay, check your local stores, i got some kind of ovl shaped ones for a rally escort project frm wal-mart for like $40 a pair i think. depends if you want name brand to.

i bought a set of Hella 500s for $80 at a local accy place. i love the lights and they look nice. they come w/a full wiring harness also.

Me and my buddy went out to a junk yard and pulled the light bar off of a Land Rover, later to get a suprise that the lights are a brilliant green color making the woods seem like daytime at 2 am.

Don't go cheap.

i think you can get a couple Hellas for around that price

you can get a pair of KC's off of Ebay for under 100.

Well, my friend is running 4 KC 130 watt lights on the front of his XJ (ebay special - 100 bucks). He wired up 2 55 watt Hella 500s in the rear and the Hellas are brighter than the KCs!!!!! I'm running the Hellas and wouldn't get anything other than these or PIAAs.

First you need to decide if you want driving lights or fog lights. Both Hella & KC & ProComp will fit your budget. I would lean towards Hella personaly.
Fog lights will be on with your low beams, or just by them selves depending on how you wire them.
Driving lights will only be used with your high beams.
I would go with fogs since you get to use them 90% of the time. I would also go with the clear lense since they put out more light than the yellow lenses and you dont see any better with yellow light.
My pick...Hella 500 or FF200. See them at: http://www.rallylights.com/hella/Auxiliary_Lamps.asp

Thanks for all your help....now for more questions: Will added fog lights make my lighting that much brighter than the stock beams or should I just go with driving lights and if I do this, is it legal/possible to use the driving lights with the low beams? and are there any national chains that sell good quality round lights? I want to get some installed soon and don't really want to deal with shipping and stuff. Thanks

Yes, the fogs light up a much larger area in front and at the side of the road than the stock lights & you can use them w/low beams.
You cant use driving lights when other traffic is approaching you. Its just like having your high beams on, only brighter.
I dont know whats in your area but try some "off road" shops. PepBoys, AutoZone, ect. may have some quality lights but usually they go for "low price".

150-watt sealed-beam Daylighters for $79 for black and chrome, $99 for stainless. You won't find them cheaper anyplace else (and if you do, let me know!!). IMHO, they're, BY FAR the best bang for the buck. The cheap ones from the local Auto Zone or Wal Mart are junk.... the light output is dismal at best, and they don't last. The KCs come with a 23-year warranty, and the light output is absolutely phenominal. They make HIDs look like candles.

gijoecam, I didn't see your post in time. I went ahead and bought some new Hella 500 fogs off eBay with the full installation kit ($74 shipped). After I placed the order however, I remembered that Westin said the bar can hold lights up to 6" and these say they are 6 3/8". Will they fit? Judging by 96LimitedX's I am assuming they will, just double checking. Thanks

They're not a bad light, and probably, in all honesty, a better fit for the guard. The KCs are deeper wheras the Hellas and PIAAs have a thinner profile. The light output is no comparison though.... I've got PIAA 520 SMRs in the airdam of my F-150 and the Daylighters on the brush guard. The Daylighters are 150-watts, the PIAAs are 55.... the low mount of the PIAAs not withstanding, the daylighters still blow them out of the water.

You'll be happy with them. :)

yep the Hellas fit perfect. they are very slim and put out a nice light. you should be happy with them. i had some 100w lights much like the daylighters and i was not happy with them.

I am about to put some Explorer ProComp 100's on my Safari Bar. What am I to expect for brightness?
