Hi guys, really need your input on this. I have a 2000 eddie bauer with 78000 miles. thing has been running fine until the other day. the check engine light has been coming on and off for about a month. the other day i was driving about 65 and the car in front of me breaks to take a right turn. well after it gets out of my way and i try to give my car gas, it sputters and dies out on me. i let it sit on the side of the road for a bit, it turns on and idles fine, but when i put it in drive and try to give it gas, it just sputters and dies. i tow it to the nearest place and the guy replaces my fuel filter, that doesnt fix it. then he hooks up the CEL machine and heres what we got

pretty much anything that can be wrong, went wrong. so the guy tells me theres no way that all these things just busted out on ya, it has to be something with your computer? but he was so shady that i want to get your input on this. my battery was real low on voltage and i went and got a brand new one an hour ago, installed it, and that did not do the trick. because i heard that your computer can be affected if your battery is low. is it really a computer problem? or a wiring harness thing? it smelled like something burned for about 10 seconds when it first broke down, but that was it. any input is appreciated thanks guys.

I doubt that there's anything wrong with your PCM. I suspect that your transmission wiring harness came into contact with your exhaust pipe due to the sudden braking and burned. I suggest that you check the transmission wiring harness and associated electrical connectors.

The CEL off and on for the past month is probably associated with your EVAP control system.
