Not familiar with oil catch cans, I did a little snooping and found this

It appears these are particularly useful on turbo-charged engines. They remove oil from the crankcase vent before being fed back to the intake, to keep the engine clean.
Could this be used at the PCV valve to help maintain the engine? Feel free to smack me if I'm way off here.
