I just got a 95 explorer and have been slowly working through its quirks. After about a week of driving it I had a spurt of coolant coming out of the back of the block. Got everything torn down and the intake manifold gasket had let loose by the back water jacket. I replaced the intake manifold gasket and now I'm loosing oil with the quickness and its running like crap. I also have a random check engine light with a code of 188. Depending on the position of the throttle it'll will occasionally ping (which I'm guessing is what's causing the code 188). I just did a tune up less the 500 miles ago and used all genuine ford parts when I did it. I pulled the #5 plug and it was completely crusted over to the point of not even being able to see the insulator. Did I screw up putting the intake manifold gasket on? Or has something else now let loose? Any help would greatly be appreciated. -Rob
