2018 Explorer Limited 4x4
Hi all,
I just bought a 2018 Limited with the 3.5L in May so I have not had a lot of time to familiarize myself under the hood. Noticed I have an oil leak and started poking around to find this. Thought this was just confined to the lower pan, but looks like the leak goes up much higher. Is this a possible gasket issue? I am really not familiar with the newer engines and their layouts so any help with identifying what I am looking at so I can start to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like timing cover seal (just rtv) is leaking which is a pretty big job. Still under warranty?

Shoot, that's a rough one. No, it's not under warranty anymore unfortunately.

I was thinking about this last night and I am still covered under my 60K powertrain warranty. I am at 47K. Would something like this be potentially covered under Mfg warranty?

Thanks @boominXplorer for the advice! It was covered under the powertrain warranty. I am past the bumper to bumper and had not thought of going the powertrain warranty route. Th dealer confirmed it was the timing cover and fixed it up and replaced the water pump as that was leaking as well. Saved me a grand or so.
