Just bought a 2000 XLT 4.0, and sometimes when I start her up a get a racket from the engine for about 1 - 1 1/2 seconds, until the oil pressure kicks in. It seems to be more pronounced when the temperature is cold. When it's warm, oil presure is immediate. Any ideas or suggestions? I thought it might be a bad anti-siphon valve in the oil filter, but I've changed it to a Mobil 1 filter and it's still occuring. Help!

Have you tried switching to a lighter weight oil durring cold months? On that topic if it works you could run 0w-20 full synth year round.
