Oil pressure switch....

I'm feeling pretty stupid. My pressure gauge goes nuts when the ac is on in my 2002 3.0L Ford Ranger XLT. I was told by a mechanic to change the oil pressure switch. I bought one but now I can't find the d**n thing. Help??
