Since there is a thread about what we dislike, I thought its appropriate to have one that asks the what you like about it.. Here are my favorite things about the 2014 Ford Explorer Limited..

Love those big wheels, polished aluminum effortlessly going over speed breakers and small ditches

MyfordTouch is my most favorite part of the vehicle.. I dont quite understand why this has received so much flak.. to me, its very intuitive and user friendly and FOrd has done a fantastic job at integrating all the various functions.. phone, nav, entertainment and climate in one easy to use interface. I just totally love it

I love the steering wheel heating.. and use it every time

love the ability to remote start

its quiet and feels remarkably stable and safe for an SUV.. I feel a lot safer in this than in my Odyssey or Accord Sedan

its built like a tank. those doors are massive and heavy.. no doubt offer protection against side impact better

love the predefined text messages and integration with my phone.. so to text someone I dont have to enter any text, just use one of the predefined text messages and hit send

I love the collision warning.. I think it saved my butt yesterday and more than paid for itself.. I nearly avoided colliding with a stopped car thanks to the beep alarm

I believe that a similar discussion thread on this already exists.

MFT-Nav, music/SIRIUS and phone sync-all work great and I see so many people driving more expensive cars holding their phones. They must not be able to get it going and dont bother.

Fob range is all the way down the street or across a large parking lot
when other objects/ cars are not blocking view or signal.

Comfy

Drives fantastic.

The gas tank and mileage match my prior Honda(4cyl)

adjustable pedals

People in Pilots and Highlanders are ALWAYS looking

I am pleasantly surprised Sirius service works on my 2014 Explorer without any subscription. I wanted to check if there is a time limit on this or if i dont have to pay for life

Pretty sure it's a free 6 month subscription that you get with the purchase of a new vehicle.

Ford vehicles come with an initial 6 month trial subscription. I believe there was even a channel guide supplied in my package of manuals.

From your 2014 Owner's Guide;
Sirius satellite radio is a subscription-based satellite radio service that broadcasts a variety of music, sports, news, weather, traffic and entertainment programming.
Your factory-installed Sirius satellite radio system includes hardware and
a limited subscription term which begins on the date of sale or lease of
your vehicle.
See an authorized dealer for availability.
For more information on extended subscription terms (a service fee is
required), the online media player and a complete list of Sirius satellite
radio channels, and other features, please visit www.siriusxm.com in the
United States, www.sirius.ca in Canada, or call Sirius at 1–888–539–7474.
Satellite Radio Electronic Serial Number (ESN)
You need your ESN to activate, modify or track your satellite radio
account. When in satellite radio mode, you can view this number by
pressing SIRIUS and memory preset 1 at the same time. To access your
ESN, press the bottom left corner of the touchscreen, then SIRIUS >

it appears the subscription fee is about $15/mo.. no thanks, I wouldnt even pay $5. Since their marginal cost is zero, they need to come up with more effective ways of selling the service, for example charge ~$2-$4 a month for service in a car. especially since I spend less than 1hour a day in. Why $2? look at Netflix.. compare what you are getting and price and utility time. I am surprised they havent figured that they need to charge less for car installed radios than those portable ones to increase revenues.. given their marginal cost of additional subscription is nearly zero

I have all these options and like them a lot..

Collision warning
Adaptive cruise control
Lane assist (low that vibration and torque on the steering wheel when I begin to drift from my lane)
heated steering wheel
rear seat belt airbags for additional protection to my children
blind spot monitoring
2nd row bucket seats and center console
Ford Sync and FordMyTouch integration with Nav, entertainment, climate and phone
I like the 2 additional LCDs behind the steering wheel and all the items that can be displayed
Dual panel moonroof with power slider
spacious cabin
seating comfort, the best

The power and torque on my sport!
Biggest surprise was the terrain management feature I really thought that knob on the console was just a "glorified" traction control....you know, on other cars where you normally push the button and turn it off in order to have your wheels spin in the snow.
Surprised at how technical it really is, changing shift points in the transmission and how it manages the delivery of power to the individual wheels.
I love it.
Oh, and the adaptive cruise. So glad I purchased the option. Awesome.

On my 2011 Limited I like everything but the HID headlights are a disappointment. Features used most frequently, other than push button start/stop are the lock/unlock ability by touching the door handle and the Adaptive Cruise Control. Also, being that it is a 2011, the dependability of the vehicle has been outstanding.:thumbsup:

One thing that struck me today that I like is the speedometer. The fact that 60 mph is on the left rather that at the top. The top of the steering wheel blocks the top of the speedometer when it is in the most comfortable position. The EX design avoids a lot of neck twisting.

I'm 5'9" so I have the seat up a bit and can see the entire speedometer. I can also use the driver's side armrest without any problem.

I like the overall redesign of the 2016, particularly the Platinum model. Can't wait to actually see one on the dealer's lot this Summer.
