'93 Eddie Bauer Explorer
So after, like, a year of not owning an Explorer and not posting, I may as well post up my return in the New Member Forum. As soon as I get the title to my BMW mailed to me in the mail, I'll be trading it for a VERY low mileage 1992 Ford Explorer. It needs a new center console pad, some front seat covers, a dome light, and a front windshield. Otherwise, it's in great condition. A few dents on the body and bumpers, but nothing too serious. It's got 120k miles. I trust that it's not 220k miles because it belongs to a good friend of mine and I doubt he'd lie to me about that.

It's just a regular run of the mill explorer, but it does have grey leather upholstery. The exterior has a somewhat faded shade of black on it. Granted, it's no Eddie Bauer edition like my '91 was, but it's an Explorer nonetheless.

The bmw is decent right now, but fixing it would be too expensive (remember, bmw=German=expensive!!!!!!). I never really liked that car, either. After my Durango, which I took four-wheeling all the time, the BMW was not a good transition. It's a close race with the Durango, but I think that my Explorer might've been my favorite vehicle that I've owned so far.

Mods are going to be very simple. No fiberglass like the '91 or long travel or anything. Here are my ideas:

Fix everything that needs to be fixed (obviously this is first)
30x9.50R15 BFG T/A KM2 tires, mild fender trimming if needed
Stock wheels
Get a set of factory roof rails, build a tubular roof rack to mount on them
Heavy duty front bumper w/ brushguard, maybe winch, too
Light mounting bar on roof w/ 4 off road lights, 2 lights on the front bumper
Selectable rear locker

After that, we'll see how it goes. a 4" lift and 32" tires would be cool, but this will be my daily driver and I don't want to lose much driveability or fuel economy.
