Looks nice but I wouldn't call that low miles. I did not see anything about engine replacement. At 80K, that would be end of life for a 4.0L SOHC. Mine was replaced by Ford under warranty at around 90K. Its listed as 5 owners and Ford only did engine replacement for the original owner. So I would say, original engine at "end of life". So his price is way to high.

You actually believe that 80,000k is the end of the life for a SOHC 4.0? Have you taken at gander at the seriously high 4.0l thread by chance?

No I haven't seen that thread, but I will take a look. My experience is only with seven 98, 4.0L SOHC Explorers. Four my company bought, two that belonged to friends and my one. They all died at or before 100K. Ford did recall them for the chain rattle but it was a quiet recall, if you didnt take it to the dealer and complain you wouldn't know about the recall. And since they all started to rattle after the warranty was up no one ever took them in.

So it has the same engine, transmission, transfer case and interior (minus the leather- which was a no big deal option) as mine. 40,000 miles or so less than mine. About the same year as mine. For more than twice the price of mine.

No thanks.

Ford accidentally sent Saleen a few V6's instead of V8's back in '98. Saleen just said heck with it and made less than 10 XP6's. I think only 6 are registered on the SaleenRegistry like stated above..

Could be a very rare Explorer here soon...

I dont care how rare it is...it's ugly

I would make sure it's a Saleen built. Steve did sell the parts for a while and there are probably a few "homebuilts" out there. How many #1 or #2 Saleen Mustangs have hit the market? #3 was actually the first one...

I think the look would have been much better without those rear bumper vents. Somehow those vents and the Saleen sticker on the side ruin the look for me.

And eBay rant on- if someone is selling a vehicle, especially a rare vehicle like that, why, why, WHY do these idiots post such sh***y pictures? I mean come on- sideways, blurry serial number plate, bad angles? Seriously? WTF?!?

apparently this is the only XP6 that has 4 wheel drive...not that you would need it in one of those lol i would love an XP8 or at least the spoiler from one!!
