This is another problem I've been having and hoping for good news, but I suspect im going to need a tranny.
Last year the truck started to shift late, around 5k rpm but only when trying to pull out into traffic or trying to speed up onto the highway. I decided to try transmission filter and fluid, was told there was metal flakes but didn't seem burnt. It didn't really help. It shifts fine if I drive slow which is what I've been doing, but this all happened after getting new plugs and wires, one of the spots for spark plug had to be rethreaded after I stripped it out. I can't see this having to do anything with the shifting but that's when it started. Could it possibly have anything to do with the overdrive system?
I remember reading somewhere the overdrive could affect shifting? I have 220k miles. Engine and transmission rebuilt by jasper around 140-150k
