Ok, for those that have been keeping up with the saga, you'll remember that I changed the 3/4 solenoid and the tcc solenoid and was left with a transmission that wouldn't go into gear at all. I went back, checked the transmission fluid level and it was low. Added some and badabing badaboom, I have gears (but still no overdrive). However, I accidently added too much. Question is, can having too much ATF cause the transmission to slip? I'll come up to a stop sign and when I take off, it just revs for a bit then feels like I popped the clutch on a manual when it kicks into gear. Can too much ATF cause this?

On a side note, my temperature gauge either started to work yesterday or my car was totally overheating. Normally, even when I'm pushing it hard, it doesn't go past the "N" in normal. Yesterday and this morning, it was going all the way to the "R" but nothing indicated that it was overheating?

I guess the point of this post is: Is it better to let the car roll off of a cliff? Or into the river?

Cameron, I got your cell message too late, I was moving that weekend. Call me and let's arrange for you to drop it off do I can play with it. My initial impression is still the same... something electrical.... let me play with that aspect in more detail, can you arrange to give the the Ex for a few days? My new place is much closer to you (just off Bradshaw now)

That would be great...

I'm pretty busy this week but I'll give you a call so we can work it out. I definately owe you for this.

Tell me you put in a drain plug? <g>. If not I'll add one along with a new VB gasket... and a slight overfill won't hurt anything. Old wive's tale.

As long as your tranny cooler is working fine, then taking the temp up to the A is OK. Anything past that can start to really overheat things. Transmission can still overheat before engine does. IMO.. electrical. Had a similiar problem and it was a 30 dollar fix with an hour of labor.

What was you're fix?

I am having problems with my tranny as well. I can go into 2nd from 1st but it will not let me go to 3rd. Sometimes if i tap the break and let off the gas the car will go into gear, if not it just revs up to 4500 rpms. Please help i cant afford to pay for a new tranny. Any ideas.... it wont let me put a new thread so I am responding to yours cause it is similar.
