I know there was some talk of this some time ago. What happened? Let's organize a trip sometime in the next 6 months for the North West.

Paul G?
Kevin Loughren?
Guys from WA, OR, etc. + any others from farther.

I know that we could host a great weekend and British Columbia has no shortage of great trails for the mild and the modified.

Let's get going!

Cheers

I'm in for some Northwest fun. I kind of tried to organize one a while ago, but it didn't seem like anyone was very interested. I'm also hoping the next big Explorer trip will be in Northern California so I can drive down there.

If I have enough advanced notice I should be able to make it for something like that. It is hard for me to figure out a date right now so you guys come up with a date and a trail and I will try to be there. As far as difficulty level, the harder the better. As long as I don't break my back windows I really don't care.

Technically Velveeta isn't REALLY cheese... it's a cheese food...
The stuff that other cheeses eat... I guess.

I live in Moscow, ID, near Wash. State U. for those of you who haven't heard of it. Lots of trails and BLM land out here. I'd definately go to a NorthWest run!

Mike (Fox), I'm orignally from Tacoma/Puyallup, isn't there still good 4x4 land around Orting/South Prairie? Under all the power lines?

I'd really like to get a good run out here in Latah/Benewah/Shoshone/Clearwater counties. To give everyone a good idea of the terrain out here, the panhandle (skinny part) of Idaho only has one highway through it. In terms of elevation, McKay Idaho is at over 13,000 feet, in comparison, Mt Ranier in Wa is at 14,410. I'll be looking for good runs all summer, but you don't get a lot of crawling out here, it's mostly mud pits, washouts, and trail debris (Rocks, Logs, etc.)

Nate, I am not sure if there is still good 4x4 land around Orting/South Prairie or not. I don't make it down the hill to those areas to often. I have only been out once in my Explorer and that was up to Evans Creek area with another Puyallup res. David99xlt. I know he said he has written Mat R about getting together with him and his friends to go out sometime but I haven't heard much else since then. I look forward to going out more as time permits (the wife, too) as this is also our family rig I have to be careful not to damage it. Someday I will get a '94 or older and make it a trail rig$$$. Everyone,
I think we all know what to expect from our great old northwest when we go 4bying, some good water and mud.

I'm trying to think of what trails would be good enough to warrant a drive to this area, and I'm thinking we could almost do two different areas in two days. If we based the trip out of say Redmond, we could hit Lake Keechus the first day and then Reiter Road the second. I haven't been to Keechus lately(I'm hoping to soon) but if you check out my web page you can see some of the pics from a recent trip to Reiter Road. They have some pretty major stuff, some of it that should definitly push Paul to his limit. A buddy of mine takes his quad when we go there and scouts ahead, so we'd be cool as far as trail guiding.

Mike,
I haven't forgot about inviting you, I just haven't gone. I have been really busy finishing up the this quarter of college, but I'm hoping to get something together soon. I'm thinking in maybe 2-3 weeks, we can hit Lake Keechus(Snoqualmie Pass) It'll be at least me and two other trucks, possibly more.

Sounds good Mat. Just let me and David99xlt know when. I should be able to go, hopefully.

Just an update for all the northwesterners...

I made it up to "Stump Lake" in snoqualmie pass this weekend for a little off road fun... It was "ok" I got stuck in the snow because of the elevation and then in the mud because I blew a hub. The trails were alright, but I didn't get a chance to make it to the other side of I-90 to check out Lake Keechus, which is supposed to have better trails(of course I found this out AFTER the fact)

For the locals Stump Lake would be fun, but I'd really like to find a good trail run that I can take a bunch of people on... I'll get my hubs repaired, check out Lake Keechus and maybe we can get something going.
