Just wanted to get some pics up here of the OTC 6488. This is my first go around doing the timing chains and related components. I believe I have installed this correctly.

With this tool, do I still need a strap wrench to loosen the balancer bolt?

Ok...I am completely confused now. I have read and read numerous posts here. I am attempting to replace left and right chains, sprockets, guides and tensioners. Starting with the left and main first. I have the cam locked down at TDC and I have the crank locked at TDC (per the pics and write up by StreetRod2000).
Am I doing this correctly? When the left is done, I remove the cam lock tools from the left and install on the right cam when I am ready to start that side?

Hello? Anybody in Orlando? I sure could use someone that is a bit more knowledgeable than myself. I grill a pretty good steak and lobster tail and have ice cold beer!

not for loosening balancer bolt

I advise against using the OTC 6488 crankshaft holding tool for removing or installing the harmonic balancer retaining bolt. It is too flimsy and not designed for that purpose. I suggest another method as described in my thread: SOHC V6 Timing Chain Parts Removal Procedure
