Comp Cams did offer a higher cam which I think was a 448 or something like that. I remember seeing it on ebay a few times, from the same guy I bought my cam from (422) Anyways that was two years ago I spoke of it but nobody responded on that cam. He was all about selling performance ford parts. I don't remember all the details but there was a even more aggressive cam avaliable.
well since a sniffer test is something i must pass in md i suppose the 422 would be plenty. i want to find a 5spd ranger and take the motor outta thee ex clean it up and giv it a gasket rebuild and while its out throw a cam in. and come out of this with an empty ex ready for a motor and a good refreshened motor thrown in what will then b a lil daily driver. but i do not want to spend tons of money on that 4.0 so my question now is.
where is a good place to get the gaskets i will need. is ther a full gasket rebuild kit like ive seen for other vehicles that anyone knows of?
and mor importantly. for the 422 this thread has specified a LOT more work and parts then the 410 i believe. whats the cheapest way to get the most out of the 422 (wher can i buy it cheaper/get rods made cheaper? get rockers done by machine shop?) i have buddies in machine shops n such so please let me know the cheapest way to make this stuff work
