hey guys watsup? Just found this site today, hopefully it helps. I just bought a 97 explorer for $300. Its been kinda of headache but was looking for something that i could use as a mud toy and build it up. Plus its 5 speed always wanted one. My main issue right now is a big one, my transfer case locked up the other day. I was on the gas when it happened and it sheared the output shaft on the tranny right in half. I already got a new transfer case. My question is can I change the output shaft without taking the trans out? If I have to take it out how hard it is to change? Never tore into a tranny before but, learn pretty quick and I want to give it a try. Any help is greatly appreciated everybody i know just gives me a blank stare when i ask lol.

ok. wasnt sure on that thank you. how difficult is it do that rebuild? i am fairly mechanically inclined. have done a few swaps and have basic hand tools, but am willing to buy what ever special tools that i need. not in a big hurry to get it together so i can take my time on it. or if there is manual for this trans that would help too, thanks again
