overdrive light flashing

mostlikley the modulator valve is going or gone. easy way to tell is simply does it shift into 4th when the accelarator is released. would recomend taking into a trans shop for a through once-over. could also be trash in the valve body. when was the last fluid/filter change?

Tranny threw a code, get it checked.

Usually the OD light means your torque converter is slipping. Most commonly this is due to impending failure or bad fluid.

:exp: :exp: mine did that and it wasn't good.have a '95 limited-was driving great and that light started flashing. hope yours isn't as serious-rebuilt tranny cost us $1700-but we loooove our explorer so we bit the bullet and paid the bucks.good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! :exp:

Well, problem solved, it was a solenoid in the transmission system or something like that. I just had the transmission replaced about 20k miles ago, so it is still under warranty and the repair was free! So everything turned out alright.
