2000 Eddie Bauer Explorer
I have a 2000 Eddie Bauer, with the SOHC motor, and the 5 speed automatic. I have had it for several months, but just noticed that I can only turn the OD off, or on, when the transmission is in park.

Is this normal?

The OD on my wifes 2004 Mountaineer can be turned off, or on, anytime.

No, that doesn't sound normal. It kind of defeats the purpose of OD if you have to put it in park to switch.

That's pretty much what I thought too.
Any ideas what I need to be checking?
