Hello, sorry but I can't help with your problem. I was wondering if you happen to have a factory, electric sunroof. If you do, have you ever had water drop from the temp/compass display? I was just wondering because I get drips from it, and getting worse, and thought this may be connected to your temp display problem.

The temp will be higher when your explorer is parked because its "sunbathing" (collecting heat) and the temp. computer reads it as a hotter temp. The is normal on every vehicle that i'm been in

In fact I had a windsheild leak and did have water dripping from my overhead display. i have got a replacement console from a junkyard and thats the one I'm having trouble with. I would get that leak fixed ASAP before it costs you a lot! i had to put $400 into mine.:fire:

What year did you get your console out of?

It was a 96 I think..it has the same color display as my old one. Tonight the temp read correctly again...it figures...

mine does the same thing. it will be 60 out and the temp will say 40 or somethin. someone said it's the temp. sensor but i don't know how to replace it or if i have to take it to get fixed. it's not b/c its parked or anything like that. my girlfriend's grand cherokee was parked next to mine and her temp. was right and mine was way off.
