I'm still trying to figure how out to mount the garage door opening in it. Did you have any luck with this?

Originally they had sticky back velcro in them to mount the opener to. And they had little square standoffs to adjust the depth the opener is mounted so that the piece attached to the button hits the button on the opener just right.

the metal clip has nothing to due with a garage door opener. It's for holding other things (sun glasses ect). during allergy season I use it hold a bottle of nasal spray. like someone said, the door opener was to be held in place by a velcro piece and there were 2 lego-block things to adjust te depth for the button. next time i'm in my exp i'll look to see what holds the clip in, but it's designed to be removable with the open end facing the windshield.

okay. i checked my truck. the clip is actually plastic and it has a little knob (lego-like thing again) which fits into a hole in the cover. again the open end faces the windshield.

For me, I first removed the push button from the compartment door. Then I took a piece of firm closed cell foam, and trimmed it to fit inside that compartment. Then I trimmed out a space to hold my garage door opener that would center the buttons on my garage remote in the opening where the push button was.

I have two garage doors, so I needed to be able to choose more than one button, so that is why I removed the push button.

Nothing special, but I can post a pic if anyone wants. Just PM me to do so...
