Oxygen sensor new update

I just bought 2 bosche Oxygen sensors that were supposed to be new.
for my 1995 Explorer.

Now opened the box and both look a little discolored and have like antiseize compound on them like they had been installed to test them...
no rust or wear marks at all meaning that they do not look like that had been in a vehicle for any time period...

Is this normal??
I am not sure and they say that they receive them from Bosche just like that..

i bought a single oxy sensor a couple weeks ago. Yeah the Tip of it was discolored, kinda like how oil looks in the lake.

I do remeber a little bit of the creepin crud on the threads too.

so yeah i believe it's normal, although it never crossed my mind when i did mine. Oxy sensors turn black after usage.

i will take a picture and post it later for you to see..

cool, yeah ill be able to tell then

It's normal for the tips to look like have been heated red hot and cooled, they have. That is how they either make em, or if they do, test em. They also put antisieze on the threads... relax, you are fine.

Pictures added to first post. Please give me your opinion. if you had bought new oxygen sensors.

oh man your good...

thats exactly how my new one from Bosch looked

they have to be pretreated man, thats why it looks distorted.

This is completely normal. I have installed o2 sensors in all of my family's vehicles and they all looked like that when i purchased them. There is nothing to worry about.

Yes, like the others stated those are new... Bosch O2s come with anti-seize.

That is exactly what mine looked like when I bought it last week. I wondered the same thing. I figured if the anti-sieze compound was still on, then it wasn't used before. If Bosch tests every one, then I guess they would be discolored.

anti-seize = Creepin Crud, keep that crap off your hands or you will find it everywhere!
