Replacing P/S pump.

1.) to remove pressure hose, do I simply back nut out of fitting on Pump and pull?

2.) I see some posts about a nylon seal (O ring?). IS THIS A PROBLEM that I'm going to have? Is there anything I've got to be on look out for? Either on it coming apart when I try to get it out of pump or getting it back in?

3.) I see no problems with my current pressure line, but it is a 13 year old truck now, with quite a few miles. SHOULD I REPLACE ENTIRE HOSE, or let well enough alone since it isn't currently leaking?

Thanks.

The nylon O ring can be replaced...but you need special tools so you can slide it over the threads. NAPA has the tool set, but I've never seen them let you use it. They make you buy the set. About $85 IIRC. However, I've seen that seal re-used many many times successfully.

Hoses can deteriorate with time, heat, etc. You can't see what's going on inside the hose either. Since this isn't the easiest hose to change, it might be a good idea to go ahead and replace it as preventative maintenance while you have everything apart. Just make sure you get a high quality replacement. I like Motorcraft because you get a hose with the correct restrictors, protective sleeves, etc. if necessary.
