Good Morning,
I have a 2003 Ford Explorer w/4.6 V8, recently had check engine light come on P0420 bank 1 etc.
Changed out all four o2 sensors picked up 2 miles to a gallon, cleared light.
Yes, it came back on again, used Cataclean, cleared code and yes, back on again.
Was going to change out EGR, MAF, and PCV, I am not sure since I have had this unit it has ever been done.
In 2014 engine was changed (factory replacement) prior to me purchasing.
So questions:
Will any of these things I plan to do help?
Second problem, which may be connected, engine goes through surging until idle sensors stabilize , engine runs so smooth you can't tell its running, so none of the on line posts seem to discuss this, in addition it does not do it all the time.
Question:
2) Will changing the items listed above help this condition, which in turn help the other?
