Back in June this threw a P1717 after I filled with gas and then pulled up to the store. I cleared it and went on my way, all the while no shifting issues. 3 days later I am pulling my camper and the Over Drive Light starts to flash about an hour into my trip. Meanwhile the Ex is pulling fine and shifting normally and the light stops flashing and i continue with the trip. Then I started getting the P0765 with the P1717 and the O/D light is flashing periodically and still no issues shifting.

Well, I bought this thing not even 2 years ago with 92k on it and I knew it was time for a fluid and filter change so I just did that last night. Drove it this morning and it definately seems to be shifting smoother But now all these codes popped up again today.

I was going to clear the memory today to relearn the shift points because I know when i've had the battery out i have never done that. Also, i know that these codes releate to the shift solenoids and since i'm still shifting fine that it may be a loose electrical connector. I don't know where all these connectors are that I should be looking for. I have seen a few other threads on here with these codes but never any resolutions listed. Anyone ever get to the bottom of this issue? Also, I've done a few transmission pan drops and filter changes in my short 36 years and when i dropped the pan on this the pan, magnet and filter were covered in what looked like dark grease. I have never seen that before either when i dropped a pan. Has anyone ever experienced anything like that? I also can't say that i saw too many metal shavings stuck to the magnet so that's a good thing at least.

As always, if anyone has any ideas i appreciate it.
Also, if this should be in the transmission forum please move it. I wasn't sure because i didn't know if this issue is specific to certain model explorers using this transmission or all of these transmissions.

I am having basically the same problem with the codes P0768 and P1717. I have cleared them a couple of time but they immediately pop back up. I am not however getting a blinking OD light and the transmission seems to be shifting ok. I year ago a transmission shop put in a new solenioid pack and changes fluids. The same shop just checked all my electrical connections and put dielectric grease on them. Did you or anybody else on this forum have a solution before I go the route of another new solenoid pack. Replies are appreciated.
