P1309 dtc, help please

Hi, Im Clif. I bought a 99 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 V6,with an overdrive automatic and now I am having problems with it. The check engine light is on and I am getting a dtc for a P1309, I have had the cam position sensor replaced and the syncronizer checked for proper alignment. After it has been driven a while the overdrive light begins to flash. PLEASE HELP.

sounds like the knock sensor wire may be off
