Back again with the same problem. Awhile back came up with a problem with the O2 sensor and replaced that. Drove a lot better but with some rough idle. Last night it was running real rough then got a CEL. Took it to the parts store, did a scan and got a few codes. P0402 and P1455 which I think the P1455 is the main problem, something to do with emissions canister. This makes sense to me since I smell gas sometimes here and there. The parts guy said it's common for the plastic connectors to get dry rotted and crumble apart. I looked at those and seem to be o.k. I noticed a sensor of some type on the canister with two wires connected. Maybe the sensor or whatever it is is bad? Any common problems anyone know about?

P0402 is for the EGR system , P1455 is for the EVAP system. For the 1455 check your gas cap to make sure the seal is good, and the fuel filler neck is not rotted through , before checking the canister and hoses. For the P0402 it can be a few things, but I would start by checking if the EGR is sticking if the EGR is original.
