hello all,
please help me with Ford explorer 4.0L,1998, automatic transmission problem:
1.while driving a car sometimes turns in N (neitral) position automaticly
2 while turning from 3 to 4 OD lamp start blinking
diagnostic code is P1729

P1729 is according to my book 4LOW switch error.

yes, p1729 4x4 low switch error, but what i can do?

I have changed shift case motor but the problem is not solved

anybody know where the rest of this thread is? i'm having the same problem w my 98 explorer xlt. just replaced the bad transfer case motor and dash switch but still getting a p1729. cleaned the speed sensors as well. feels like the front diff is staying locked up too. 4.0L sohc. had a p1781 before replacing those parts.
